Rescheduled Brisbane to Gladstone Village to celebrate the iconic yacht race
GRC’s Brisbane to Gladstone Village will return on 3-4 July to celebrate all things nautical after COVID-19 restrictions forced the postponement of Easter in Gladstone events.
The rescheduled events will also allow yachties and Gladstone Region residents a chance to celebrate the achievements of Gladstone-based yacht Wistari, who won The Courier Mail Cup at the 73rd Gladstone Ports Corporation’s Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Council made the decision to reschedule the harbourside events which were originally planned to be held over the Easter long weekend (2-4 April).
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said it was fantastic to see the event rescheduled after many local events had been cancelled over the last 18 months due to COVID-19.
“We look forward to welcoming the community to Gladstone Regional Council’s Brisbane to Gladstone Village,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Event attendees can expect to enjoy crowd favourites including the Yachtsman’s Long Lunch, Line Crossing Party and Seafood Festival.
“I encourage everyone to visit the village, enjoy the live music, family entertainment, food and a licensed bar by the Harbour and celebrate the iconic Yacht Race.”
Attendees are advised that all rescheduled events will take place at the Lord Street Parklands.
