Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Chris Trevor said residents would have two opportunities to see the acclaimed Camerata perform at Council venues.

Camerata will present a concert at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) on Wednesday, 26 June incorporating new Australian music and great classical music heroes.

“Gladstone Regional Council is pleased to welcome this touring concert which is designed to provide regional audiences with access to fine music for the whole family, without the need for extensive travel,” Councillor Trevor said.

“Prior to the concert, Camerata’s musicians will share their skills and talents with our community members through a series of workshops and performances with school groups and local musicians.

“Participants will then have the honour of joining the Camerata on stage as part of the evening concert program.”

Cr Trevor said the next night residents were invited to a free evening of music and heritage at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum.

Camerata - Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra will play from 5.30pm-6.30pm (Thursday, 27 June) in response to Maps, a heritage exhibition from the Gallery & Museum collection.

Performing without a conductor, Camerata’s players have established a reputation for passionate, exciting performances that engage audiences of all ages.
