Moonlight Movies to light up the night sky at Calliope’s Bunting Park
Moonlight Movies is back with Calliope’s Bunting Park to host the popular event on Saturday, 24 October with the screening of The Big Trip from 6.30pm.
The Big Trip (Rated PG) is an animated film, written by one of the writers of Madagascar, about a goofy stork who mistakenly delivers a baby panda to the wrong door.
The film then follows a bear, moose, tiger and rabbit who embark on a fun-filled adventure through the wilderness to return the panda to its rightful home.
Gladstone Region Councillor Rick Hansen said Moonlight Movies, presented by Gladstone Regional Council in partnership Gladstone Cinemas, is a safe and free event suitable for the whole family.
“This is the second Moonlight Movies event to take place this year following a double feature screening in July,” Councillor Hansen said.
“This upcoming event is a single screening, so get in early to secure your spot with a blanket or chair and bring a picnic basket or indulge yourself with cinema snack favourites such as popcorn, lollies, fairy floss, chips and drinks.”
Cr Hansen said EFTPOS is available for the purchase of food or drinks, and that COVID-19 precautions will be put in place with all movie goers required to register at the event with social distancing between families or groups to be strictly adhered to.
“Council asks you to not attend if you have cold or flu symptoms or have returned from overseas or a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days,” he said.
