Residents invited to presentation on erosion management plan
Council is inviting the community to attend presentations on the draft Shoreline Erosion Management Plans for the Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy coastline and Turkey Beach foreshore.
The draft Shoreline Erosion Management Plans (SEMPs) were developed in partnership with the community following resident feedback taken from workshops held in August.
The August workshops highlighted how residents valued their coastline and those views have been used to inform management options.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council wanted to make sure residents were involved in the process.
“These sessions are being held so residents who participated in the initial workshops can see how their feedback has helped develop the SEMPs,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Council is committed to working with the community to ensure the longevity of our beautiful coastlines and foreshores.”
The Turkey Beach presentation will be held on Tuesday, 17 December from 6pm-8pm at the Turkey Beach Community Hall (Cnr Worthington Road and Daniels Street).
The Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy presentation will be held on Wednesday, 18 December from 6pm-8pm at the Agnes Water Community Centre (71 Springs Road).
Light refreshments will be provided at both sessions.
