Master the art of bonsai with free event at Tondoon Botanic Gardens
The annual Tondoon Botanic Gardens Bonsai Weekend is back across the weekend of 28-29 August, offering you a chance to learn from an expert and win some great bonsai-related prizes.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Gladstone Multicultural Festival (28 August), which is supported by Gladstone Regional Council.
Gladstone Region Councillor Chris Cameron said the Tondoon Botanic Gardens Bonsai Weekend will run from 10am-8pm on Saturday 28 August and 8.30am-11.30am on Sunday 29 August.
“This year’s event includes visiting bonsai demonstrator Stephen Cullum, raffle prizes, free plants, Port Curtis plant sale and a People’s Choice Award,” Councillor Cameron said.
“Stephen is a visiting tutor from the Australian Association of Bonsai Clubs who has more than 30 years’ experience.
“He will be working on bonsais throughout the two-day event with the help of Friends of Tondoon Bonsai volunteers and is happy to answer all your bonsai questions.”
