Repair and rectification work is required on the stormwater outlet and retaining structure, located on the south-east side the Matthew Flinders (Gladstone Marina) Bridge.
These works will be carried out by a Contractor from 1 July, site conditions and weather permitting. - Commencing

Failure of the existing stormwater outlet and collapse of the surrounding concrete protective anchor around the pipe requires necessary rectification work.
Repair will prevent further tidal flow damage to the retaining structure, prolong asset life, and re-establish functionality.
Works will include removal and disposal of the existing damaged materials, installation of a new stormwater pipe to tie into the existing, replacement of material and concrete encasement, and reinstatement of areas of the existing retaining wall.
Council is highly aware of environmental considerations and of the work site’s proximity to Auckland Creek with strong emphasis on public safety and the safety of workers during these works.
What to expect
- Works will be undertaken at low tide.
- Works between 6.30am-6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
- Construction noise from tools and equipment.
- Increased traffic in the area temporarily during construction works.
- At times, some disruption to nearby pedestrian access.
