- Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burns (weather permitting) from the 1st of July to the 31st of August 2024, as part of the fire management program for Joseph Banks Conservation Park.

Firefighters and machinery may be working along roadsides in the vicinity of Captain Cook Drive, Elliot St, Gaden St, Barton St, Parkinson St, Orton Ct, Tupia St and the Marina Carpark. For your safety and the safety of firefighters, please slow down and observe all directions and signs.
During the planned burn these areas are closed to public access:
- all management tracks within Joseph Banks CP
Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of 1770 and Agnes Water. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.
Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
