The beach is patrolled by Lifesavers from start of September School Holidays through to the end of May Long weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Lifeguards provide a weekly service during school holidays in September, December, January and April.
Nippers is held each Sunday throughout the Patrol Season and requires members to be a minimum of 7 years of age as at 30 September and undertake a swimming assessment in a pool prior to participating in the surf at the commence on the season in September each year.  Nippers activities include surf skills (swim, board, sprint, beach flags and ironperson), understanding the Marine environments, first aid, resuscitation as well as fun activities, carnivals and camps. Our for seniors have an expanded list of surf skills including ski, champion lifesaver, first aid, inflatable rescue boats (IRB) and surf boats.

The Surf club runs a fully licensed bar and kitchen from Wednesday to Sunday.
