The Gladstone and District Philatelic Society Inc. is a hobby group for any one interested in stamps and all that goes with the hobby. Beginners are welcome as we are all learning at various levels.
Stamps are for sale from circuit books at most of our meetings. Everyone is welcome at our meetings.
The Society publishes a newsletter once a month which is available from the Society or at the 3 Gladstone Post Offices. It is called The Gladstone Bag.
The Society holds an annual Stamp Fair as part of its charter to bring Philately to the Gladstone community. To make philately available to the community, the annual Fair is a two-day event, usually held in late March or early April. The 2024 Fair will be held on the 23 and 24 March at the Yaralla Sports Club 9am to 3pm. For future years beyond 2024 plese check our website https://www.gdps.org.au/
The Society produces the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race Covers. Covers carried on yachts actually racing in the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Race. The covers are available through the society.
Membership fees are, Single $20.00, Family $30.00, Juniors free. You do not have to be a member to come along to a meeting.
The Society meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, (except for the fourth Wednesday in December and the 2nd Wednesday in January) at The Philip Street Community & Families Precinct, Meeting Room 1 of the Maxine Brushe Meeting Place building located at 1 Pengelly Street, West Gladstone. The meeting on the fourth Wednesday each month is a business meeting with no stamps available.
