St John Silver Cord Telephone Reassurance Service:
The Silver Cord Telephone Reassurance Service provides vital telephone calls assisting community members, particularly the aged, people with a disability and their carers, to remain at home safely.
Security Calls: A phone call at a regular time to check the client is safe and well. Available Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Friendship Calls: A cheerful weekly chat between the client and a volunteer to help the client stay connected in their community.
Respite Calls: Can be made after your return home from hospital, or while family and friends are away.
The Silver Cord service is a subsidised program funded by both the Australian Government Department of Social Services and the Queensland Government Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services. Silver Cord is available throughout South East Queensland and Wide Bay areas for eligible clients. The service is available throughout ALL of Queensland for fee for service clients.
St John Medical Alarms:
For older people, people with a disability, or those living alone, the concern is who will come when help is required? With a St John Medical Alarm, that worry is taken away with a 24 hour, 7 day a week service that responds instantly to any call for help.
St John Medical Alarms are small, lightweight devices that connect wirelessly to a unit. In the event of an emergency, the alarm (worn as a pendant or clip on) activates an emergency call to St John. Within minutes, our operators can direct a relative, friend, neighbour or even the emergency services to your home. All St John Medical Alarms come with falls detector technology as standard and are designed to detect and summon help automatically if the wearer has experienced an unrestricted fall.
St John Medical Alarms are available throughout Queensland. Please contact our friendly staff for more information on this product and information on pricing.
