Description of service
Agnes Water Museum is operated by volunteers from the Discovery Coast Historical Society.
Agnes Water Museum is known as "the small museum with enormous interest". An extensive collection includes fossils and minerals, a significant collection of indigenous and islander artefacts, a considerable volume of material relating to the Discovery Coast's maritime history, in particular the discoveries of Lt James Cook and Joseph Banks in the Endeavour, Matthew Flinders in the Investigator, the losses of the Agnes and the Countess Russel, Bustard Head Light Station (the "Lighthouse of Tragedy"), early European settlement and memorabilia.
